Start with the information that proves you can do the job, then shorten the least useful wording. A one-page resume works best when every line earns its space.

Use this editing order

1. Keep the header compact. Name, email, phone, LinkedIn, and a relevant portfolio link are usually enough. A full street address rarely helps a technical resume.
2. Give each role its strongest bullets. Start with the outcome, then name the work and the tools only when they clarify what you did. Remove a bullet that repeats another bullet's scope.
3. Make projects do a distinct job. A project should show a capability your experience section does not already demonstrate. If two projects tell the same story, keep the better proof.
4. Trim skills into groups. Group related languages, frameworks, and tools instead of listing every package you have ever opened.
5. Shorten dates and locations last. These help the reader scan. Do not sacrifice clear section titles or readable bullet text just to squeeze in another line.

What to cut first when the preview overflows

• Generic adjectives such as “hard-working,” “results-driven,” or “responsible for.”
• Duplicate technology names already obvious from the project or job title.
• Old coursework that does not support the role you want now.
• Bullets that describe routine duties but show no decision, scope, or result.
